Gardens

Trees, pools and beds of colourful shrubs, roses and a host of other plants cheerfully welcome the visitor to the park. Amongst these can be found three special formal gardens - Chelsea Gardens, Maxell Garden and the Sensory Garden (see below).

o The Chelsea Gardens.

They are known as the Chelsea Gardens because they were originally designed and built to be exhibited at the Chelsea Flower Show, where they won prizes. Wander through the Gazebo Garden, the Water Garden and the Summerhouse Garden.

A Rose Garden has been added, creating a series of linked garden rooms, each with their own individual character.

o The Community Garden

Located within the Chelsea Gardens this is a community run garden with raised planting beds.

o The Maxell Gardens.

This garden was created in the style of a Japanese garden to display a gift of Japanese flowering cherry trees donated by Telford based Japanese company, Maxell.

The blossom of the cherry trees put on a spectacular show in spring. Throughout the rest of the summer the garden is a small oasis to tranquility with its own carp pool and intriguing oriental style sculptures.

For more information on this garden, a leaflet is available from Spout Farm House.

o The Sensory Gardens.

This garden has been designed to stimulate all the senses. It presents a profusion of sights, smells. sounds and textures for all visitors to enjoy. The garden also has easy access for the disabled and has received the White Cane Award from the Blind. Special information boards in Braille are available on request at Spout Farm House.

Water is used throughout the gardens in many different ways, from quite reflective pools, to cascades and bubbling fountains. A range of plants can be found growing in this garden.
