Our new inclusive play area was completed in March 2013. The new play area has been designed with disabled children and young people in mind and provides equipment for all abilities within an open park setting.
This great new facility is situated around the Norman chapel, opposite our visitor centre and includes:
The inclusive roundabout includes a designated wheelchair station and a cradle seat for toddlers. This is flush with the ground making it accessible for all types of wheelchairs. A yellow perimeter inlay has also been installed to ensure high visibility for the partially sighted is also specified in the wet pour.
Flowers, bees and butterflies invite children for a trip around the garden. Safely seated at both ends with hands and feet positioned on secure bars.
Lying in a swing nest with your friends looking at the clear blue sky above give you a great feeling of satisfaction and freedom.
For those who need to burn off a bit of energy, this piece of equipment is similar to the hamster wheel.
This project was funded by Telford & Wrekin council, in partnership with Short Breaks.
