Telford Town Park is fantastic for a scenic bike ride with 14 miles of cycle friendly pathways leading off The Silkin Way and Sustrans route 55.

Built along disused canal beds and historic railway lines, it makes for an awesome trail and its traffic free all the way.

Park up at Dark Lane Car Park where you can access route 55 in minutes and start your great day out.

Cycle down to the World Heritage Site of the Ironbridge Gorge through the beauty of the 150 ha Telford Town Park and take in the parks history as you go.

CycleStreets is a handy website which has a UK-wide cycle journey planner system, this lets you plan routes from A to B by bike. It is designed by cyclists, for cyclists, and caters for the needs of both confident and less confident cyclists.

Route 55

As you cycle through Southwater and into the Telford Town Park, cycle route 55 is part of the national cycle network. Follow the signs for Route 55 or pick up a map from the visitor centre.

This route will take you through the park and into Ironbridge without the need for main road access, perfect for children and families.
